Jobs.

They kinda get in the way of things.

Granted, I have a really flexible job. I feel like if I told my boss that I wanted to take some time off, I could.

I really want to go up to Chapel Hill for a week. A week off of work may seem like a lot, but look at it this way: to drive from Columbus to the Thrill, it takes 7 hours. That’s 14 hours roundtrip, so taking 3 days off is basically a waste of time. You get up there, then you have to go back home.

Hopefully, I will be able to leave Saturday June 16 and get to CH around noon (which means I’d leave home at 4AM). Then, I’d have half of Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday to spend in CH. But then I’d come back on Thursday and just work one day for that week?

That seems stupid. Maybe I’ll leave Saturday the 16th, then come back Sunday the 24th. But is a week too long?

UGH. THIS WOULD BE SO MUCH EASIER IF I DIDN’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MISSING WORK.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
